When painting parking stall lines, here are a list of things to consider.

- Are there already pre-existing lines in your parking facility?

-  Are the lines proper length for the size of your parkinglot?

-Are there enough stalls in your parking facility for all of your customers to park?

- Are the parking stalls installed in a way that is most effective for parking and traffic flow?

Handicap-reserved spaces allow for extra space for walkers or wheelchairs, and are close in proximity to the destination, be it a store or business, so people with disabilities do not need to walk as far to reach the doors.

ADA COMPLIANCE

Painting the universal symbol of accessibility does not immediately make a parking lot compliant to ADA requirements. The 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design is formulated as per the DOJ-sanctioned revisions of Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. This covers the scope regarding minimum requirements and provisions for handicap-accessibility in parking lots and similar facilities that are either newly designed, reconstructed or altered on or after March 15, 2012. Non-compliant facilities and installations can get fined or even face a civil lawsuit.

if you are unsure if your current parking-lot meets ADA standards, you can visit ADA.gov to make sure. If not, you can contact us to map out of a new parking-lot layout that complies with ADA standards, free of charge. Call or email us if installing ADA compliant Handicap stalls in the Orlando area, and in all of Central Florida.
